My Journal, Week 3

WOW! This book has just pulled me in completely. I think this book has to be the best book ever literally, it is so deep and inspirational.  Reading this book makes the situation feel so real.  The best part was when Jessica was trying on her leg but she was very scared to walk on it because she hasn’t had a leg for a bit and now she has a medal pole with plastic leg. I know if I lost a limb and they replaced it with a medal pole it would feel very weird for me. It has put a lot of pressure on her family because they has basically been going back and forth from the hospital going to physical therapy and seeing different doctors all the time. In my eyes Jessica deserves to get a permanent leg, run again and win a gold medal. I feel that Jessica is a very calm, nice and very deep person. She always tells people how she feels and I think that is great so people know what your feeling, I know that I never tell people how i’m feeling because I afraid of what they might say. I just can’t wait until I read the book to the end and find out the all important ending to the book, I hope that it ends happily and she gets to run again.

My Journal, Week 2

I am loving this book so much. It is just sweeping me in and all I want to do is just keep reading but I can’t because I have a limit. I think the book has it’s ups and downs because of how Jessica is feeling. When they have a welcome back party she is really happy but then when she remembers Lucy’s death she is sad and the book takes you along with those emotions because it is such an involving and good book. The part that I thought was the saddest is when Jessica wants to go and watch her friends run against the best team but she is not sure if she can handle it all. Then her running team decides to raise money for her to get a prosthetic leg so she can run again. I am really looking forward to seeing if she gets that leg and if she can run again, which I hope she can because she is so nice and been through so much and she deserves it! The only thing is I think that it would feel weird having a fake leg and running on it but I suppose jessica want’s to feel normal and like everyone else agin and not be treated differently because she has only one leg. I still think that it is the best book I have ever red.

Page No. Reason for selection.

92 — I chose this passage because I think it’s great the Jessica is finally going back to school, even though she is worried and doesn’t want to go she does and she finds out that it was a great decision.

101 — I picked this bit because all of Jessica’s friends join together and have a surprise party for her coming back to school.

117 — I liked this part because Jessica insists on moving back into her bedroom so that she can try and get things back to normal and now that she has found a way to get up the stairs she loves it in her room.

128 — I loved this piece because Jessica misses class and ends up getting her homework and stuff but she finally makes someone laugh by saying a funny joke.

146 — This is one of my favorite pages because Jessica finds out that she is going to get a fake leg and is going to be able to run again. However she doesn’t believe it straight but after watching videos over and over again she finally believe’s that she will soon be running aging thanks to some friends.

159 — I picked this page because Jessica’s running team is versing the best school but Jessica is not sure that she can handle watching her friends run again.

My journal week 1.

This week I have really enjoyed the book because it just sweeps you in and you just want to keep reading only you can’t because you have a limit. I find Jessica really very inspiring because she has just had her leg chopped off and she is so determined to keep doing things as normal and take the dog outside, I love this part because she has her mind set on it and when she wants to do something she will. At some points Jessica really wants to give up because it is all just to hard. Every time she sleeps she has the same dream and she doesn’t want it to be a dream. If I got my leg amputated I know I would want it to be a dream and I think that it would feel so weird only having one leg. And finding out that one of your close friend dies in the same accident would make it even more traumatic. I love this book so much and will definitely have to buy it and put it in my room because I want to recommend and read this book over and over again. I don’t do a lot of reading but this is by far the BEST book I have EVER read!
